Randy Harris is the demonstration pilot for the Skybolt 300 during air show performances. To be successful he must be part entertainer and part pilot. This is no small feat, in fact it's a large feat or 'Bearfeat' as his company namesake suggests. Randy learned to fly model airplanes at age 12 and full size airplanes at age 25 just after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His current 'day job' is with a major US airline. Before that he was a Flight Test Engineer with McDonnell Douglas where he learned a disciplined approach to flying. His entertainment background includes positions such as: radio personality, aviation writer, and night club DJ. Randy is a do-it-yourself kind of guy who enjoys being creative. He built the Skybolt 300 himself so that he could modify it as necessary for doing air shows and has invented several original maneuvers with it including the HammerSlide, GroverOver and Happy Puppy Pass. Randy and his wife Linda currently reside at Gundy's Airpark located just outside of Tulsa, OK. When not flying, Randy enjoys cooking, tennis, and playing with their two cats Pooh and Tigger. |
